At Forest Park Primary, we believe that strong foundations in the EYFS enable every child to SPARKLE. Our Early Years provision is child centred, offering a holistic and ambitious curriculum that is driven through play. Through inclusive practice, we create an environment where all children can flourish, develop confidence, and grow into lifelong learners.

Our ambitious curriculum enables all pupils to develop the essential knowledge, skills and understanding to ensure they are ready for the next stage of their learning journey. The curriculum is designed to be broad and balanced using the National Curriculum as its foundation and with our school SPARKLE values at its core. It is further enhanced by our PSHE programme and wider curriculum, which provide rich, varied and stimulating opportunities to further embed learning and promote personal development. The curriculum is carefully sequenced and layered such that new learning is supported by existing knowledge and understanding. Key knowledge for each curriculum subject is identified for every phase and builds cumulatively throughout the school. Children have regular opportunities to revisit and reflect on what has gone before.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection (October 2023) found: 

“The school provides an ambitious curriculum for all pupils. It reflects the diverse heritage of the school community and local area. Learning is clearly mapped and organised in a way so that it builds up over time.” 

 Our curriculum is enriched by our ambitious use of technology which promotes curiosity, creativity and engagement and creates an appreciation and love of learning, whilst preparing our children for life and work in an increasingly digital future.
