Kemball School is located in Blurton.  We are a purpose built special school catering for pupils who have a wide range of cognition and learning needs including, but not limited to, communication and interaction difficulties, sensory processing issues and Autism.  There are approximately 220 pupils on roll aged between 3-19 years.  We specialise in complex physical and medical needs for individual pupils who have this an additional requirement.  Our Post 16 provision is designed specifically for pupils who have the most complex needs.

Pupils are grouped according to those working at subject specific levels and those working at non subject specific levels of attainment.  Within the school, our 22 classes are divided into four distinct pathways; Multisensory, Engagement, Progression and Functional.  This ensures that individual needs are fully met at every stage of a child’s education.  The pathways are fluid and pupils may move from one pathway to another if their needs change.  

Our aim, throughout a child’s journey at Kemball, is to develop independence so that we can prepare our young people for life beyond school. 

We also offer Outreach work to mainstream settings.  This is delivered in the form of specific, specialist support for individual pupils who have an Education Health and Care Plan in place.
